What is grief if not love persevering? I heard that quote not too long ago and it resonates so true today. We only grieve because we loved and will continue to love and that is what makes it so hard to lose someone but even more so when it was someone like you Christine. As humans we have so many differences yet right now we are united in our love for you.
I have so many fond memories because you were nothing but kind and loving to me as a was growing up and that continued into adulthood. As a child I can remember you moving house and Mum and Dad were helping you get the new house sorted. Laney and I kept playing with your measuring tape and torch, turning it into a game to keep us occupied. And when your house was complete you gifted me a torch and measuring tape. It was so funny. Maybe what you didn't know is i still play with measuring tapes and I always have one on my desk and I play with it whilst thinking through work projects and my best ideas come when the measuring tape is in hand. And of course I always think of you and when colleagues ask about it I tell them this story.
You have been beside me for many milestones in life, christenings, communions, big birthdays and my wedding day. As my Mums best friend you were like an Auntie to me although somehow more special because you chose my Mum and you embraced her children like your own. Our trip to Dublin and spending the day in the Irish Pub is something I will never forget. You and Jean arm wrestling to win me as your "niece"... it ended in a draw ha ha We laughed so much that day.
Thank you for everything. You are so loved, so dearly missed.
